Calcium-Rich Foods to Boost Oral HealthCalcium is one of the most important minerals for our teeth, in fact, it is one of the minerals that teeth are made out of along with phosphorus. This is why eating a calcium-rich diet is important for retaining a healthy smile! Here are several examples of foods that are packed with the mineral.


When people think of calcium, dairy is one of the first things people think of, and for good reason; just 1 Oz of cheddar cheese contains over 200mg bones-strengthening calcium. No matter your preferred type of cheese, Gouda, Swiss, or Colby Jack, cheese is an excellent addition to a snack or sandwich.


Almonds are America's most popular tree nut and they bring a host of health benefits to the table which includes their calcium content. Just one ounce of almonds provides 75mg of calcium. Pair this with cheese for a calcium-rich snack!


Another dairy product on this list because it is hard to ignore! Yogurt, especially Greek yogurt, is jam-packed with both protein and calcium. Just 6 ounces of nonfat Greek yogurt contains 185mg of calcium for only 100 calories. You can pair this with fruit and almonds to further add to the calcium count.

Navy Beans

Beans can also be a good source of calcium- they are very filling too! One cup of navy beans contains 125mg of calcium. Planning a meal with white beans is an excellent choice.


Dark leafy greens in general are excellent for your health. One of the more popular ones, kale, is no exception to this and is a good source of calcium to boot. Just one cup of kale contains only 33 calories for 100mg of calcium. So go ahead, load up on kale, your teeth and body will thank you!
